Ekiden Time For Toyota
The sixteenth edition of the traditional ekiden race, organised by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey, will be held on 22 April.
The relay competition, open to Toyota staff, employees of its subsidiary industry partners, and their families, is staged on the 950-meter running course at the company’s Sakarya Facilities. Timing services for the event where no less than 138 teams competed last year is provided by Depar Timing.
The word ekiden comes from the combination of the Japanese characters for “station” and “transmit”. Team members pass the “tasuki”, which is the sash that each runner wears over one shoulder and under the other arm, to each other at a transition zone. Although ekiden races are not very popular outside of Japan, Toyota carries on the tradition in Turkey since 2003.

5-Star City Run Scheduled For 15 April
International Osmangazi Historical City Run, granted “five stars” by European Athletics this year, will held on Sunday, 15 April.
The major road running event of Bursa has been promoted to the top category in the road race evaluation of European Athletics in its thirteenth year. The event, with a concept that few races offer in the world, incorporates a 15km run with prize money for the podium for overall finishers as well as master age groups, and a public run over 4 kilometres.
To register with the 13th International Bursa Osmangazi Historical City Run, a form must be filled out at www.osmangazimarathon.net. Timing services in the event will be provided by Depar Timing. -

Registrations Open For Bozcaada
New Balance Half Marathon and 10km Run is set to take place on 12 May. Online registration is now possible via the event website.
The eighth edition of the event incorporates a Kids Marathon as well as the half marathon and the 10km race. This year’s programme begins with the Kids Marathon at 18:30 on Friday, 11 May. The half marathon is scheduled to 09:30 on Saturday, 12 May, and will be followed by the 10km at 10:00. The start and finish areas of the races are located in Cumhuriyet Meydanı.
New Balance Half Marathon and 10km Run process the entries online at newbalancerun.com. The website offers event-related information along with the transportation facilities and a “runner-friendly hotels” list.

East Mediterranean Cycling Project
Tour of Cartier welcomes international cyclists in Alanya on 22-25 March. The multi-stage event will be timed by Depar Timing.
“Tour of Cartier - East Mediterranean Cycling Project” is one of the European Tour road races on the UCI (International Cycling Union) calendar. The event will start with the time trial on Thursday, 22 March, and will be followed by the stages of 109.75km, 174.79km ve 112.3km in the next three days. The race is expected to see 119 cyclers representing 17 teams from 12 countries.
The expert team of Depar Timing, in charge of timing the Tour of Cartier, will operate the ProChip system which is an ideal solution for cycling events.

Swimming With The Caretta Carettas
The annual Dalyan Open Water Swimming Race will be held on Sunday, 29 April. The deadline for race application is 30th of March.
The event, promoted as “Swimming with the Caretta Carettas”, appeals to a wide range of swimmers from the age of 14 to over 70, owing to its theme and distance. The 3.5km race starts at the İztuzu Beach, an area where the Caretta Caretta sea turtles go ashore to lay their eggs. The participants make a turn around Delikada, the island across the beach, and swim back to where they started.
As of mid-March, more than five hundred swimmers have already registered with the race. The pre-registration is only possible by filling out a form at www.carettalarlayuzuyoruz.com, the official website of the event, prepared by the organizer Dalyan İztuzu Tourism and Introduction Foundation. Final entries will be processed if the registrant sends the required documents to the organizer by 17:00 on Friday, 30 March.
